TV heads

Ok, I admit Matt and I are addicted to TV. We have our shows and we don't ever miss them. This past Sunday we had a packed night. Amazing Race, Cold Case and the Unit. Well at the end of Cold Case, the channel messed up. This was about 9:40. There was no picture, but sound, and sometimes there would be picture, but it was very cartoonish - you could barely make out faces. Well, Matt and I watched our shows like this for 1 hour!!!!! Now that is some dedication to our shows. At about 10:55 - Matt says, "Hey I think I know how to fix this!" He switch the TV to antenna and it came in clear as day - for the last 5 minutes of the show!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this sad or what~ we watched those shows for over an hour and still knew everything that was going on and weren't about to watch something else. I guess it was kind of like the olden times when they just had radios.

Vote

Yesterday morning we went to vote. I was trying to explain to the girls what voting was, but of course they came up with their own opinions on the subject. Early voting was great. From the time we left to the time we came back, it was 20 minutes. The girls touched all the yellow and green buttons. They kept saying I voted. When we were packing them all back into the car, Chloe was getting very upset - she wanted to ride the Vote!!! The poor kid thought we were going to ride a boat!! She was saying it correctly the whole time so I didn't understand why she got them confused, but I guess it just sounded too much like boat to her so she was bound and determined to ride the Vote!!

Pumpkins

Saturday night we took the girls to the fall festival at church (Harper stayed with Grandma and Grandpa because we had to work a booth for an hour and he wouldn't have been able to hang with us)! The girls really enjoyed it. We enjoyed spending time with them. They dressed up as thing 1 and thing 2 - of course I didn't take pictures, so I will later this week. They got popcorn, jumped on the jumpers and did the cake walk. They both won and picked a bag of cookies each. They were very excited to go share them with Harper. Then today we went and got pumpkins. Oh boy Harper was excited!! BALLS! - is all he kept saying. It was a great day to be surrounded by so many!! The girls were so cute picking out their pumpkins - Chloe needed a big one and Carly needed a little one. They pulled a wagon around so that we didn't have to carry the pumpkins, and when we were done picking them out, they needed a ride!

Posing for a pic

Chloe riding a big pumpkin!

Harper found some balls!

Pumpkin selection - Chloe holding the wagon with her pumpkin in it

The kids bringing their pumpkins to the counter - it's nice they are able to take care of things themselves!

The "hayride" when the work was done.

And when our fun adventure was done at the pumpkin stand we had to come home and carve them. The girls decided all the shapes for the features of their pumpkins - they came out cute.

Chloe cleaning out her pumpkin - they still won't put their hands in it! This is Carly eating pieces of pumpkin!! Matt told them they could eat it and they ate a ton of raw pumpkin~ Gross! He said they wouldn't get sick - it is a vegetable and you can do that - looked yucky to me, but they enjoyed it and ate a bunch!

Chloe and Dad working on cutting her face - triangle eyes, circle nose, and a smile with 5 teeth. Carly had to have eyes with eyelashes, circle nose, and a bunch of circles for a mouth. Harper's had 2 teeth, a circle nose, and oval eyes.

They came out cute!

October 24th

Friday we lost our baby. It seems so weird to be excited for our new member and then all the sudden, it's gone. That baby was already a part of our family and I didn't quite know how to tell the girls. They know that we gave the baby to God to take care of. Matt was praying Friday night and he prayed for me, Carly said "Not the baby in Mommy's belly. God is taking care of it." So, they get it. I am so thankful that we have our 3 wonderful kids, they are great at taking my mind off things. Even though I was only 8 weeks, it still hurts and I still cry, but I don't ask why - I know that God had a plan for that baby and one day I will figure it out, but I can't do that unless I seek His guidance through all of this.
I remembered I read about this a while ago in my bible. The devotional insert in my bible had a great point that has made me think alot. The passage is 2 Samuel 12:1 -25. When you grieve, ask yourself, "Is this a comma or a period? Am I to continue in prayer that God might alter these circumstances? Or am I to accept this tragedy as final and continue on, painfully, one step at a time?" I definately accept it and am very thankful God took the baby now rather than any day later. I know I will heal, I will never forget or 100% get over this, but it will get better and I really have so much to be thankful for. God is so great to us!!
I received an email 2 days before this happened and the lady had these two verses in it. I really liked them and I have read them everyday. They help.
Philippians 4:6 - "Don't worry about anything. Instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for what He has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far greater than the human mind can understand."
James 1:2-4 -"My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance and let endurance have its perfect effect, so that you will be perfect and complete, not deficient in anything."

Tough Stuff

It amazes me how much tougher Harper is than the girls!! He rarely cries if he gets hurt. I tried to take a picture of his face last night, but my lovely camera inhibited my ability to get a good shot. He is covered with scrapes and bumps. His face is torn up from falling out of the tree house - yes the top of the tree house!!! Matt was looking at his sod instead of watching his baby and out he fell!! And last night he thought it was hilarious to tilt his head back and fall straight back - kind of like a back flop! He hit the window sill with his noggin and just laughed as hard as he could. It was loud, but he didn't care. He just does these things to make us laugh. One day he came into the kitchen with a bucket on his head and was walking into the walls - falling back so hard and laughing every minute. He is so funny. I love this boy!

Bulbs

This past weekend the girls and I decided we needed to plant some bulbs. We planted 45 of them!!! Of course I dug the holes and the girls just dropped them in and covered them. They keep thinking they need to be big now - they have a long wait!!! Notice how they had to sit on something like Mommy - we couldn't get our fannies dirty!!

Reilly

Reilly was on a two week intersession with her year round school, so we got to spend a week with her at our house. The kids absolutely loved having Reilly here to play with. We did lots of fun things together and were glad she came. It is amazing how old she seems now - so responsible and big!! (The first time I told her to wash her hands I went to get her a stool - she towered over the sink - I couldn't believe it) We see her alot, but not all day for 5 days!! It was fun. We put Reilly's hair in curlers one day - she loved having her hair done! We also went with Nichole one day to get her hair cut!!!! She has only had 1 other haircut so it was fun getting her geared up for it! Reagan got hers cut too - it was her 1st haircut!!

Big News

Yes, the rumors are true - we are having another baby!!! This little one will be coming around June 6th. We are all so excited (well Harper had no clue). The girls talk about the baby alot - it will be neat to see them with a baby, because when Harper was born they were still kind of too little to care! Here is a video of them trying to make the announcement - good luck trying to get them to not be silly!!

Hop-si-scotch

I love hearing how the girls say things. I made a hopscotch board on the driveway and they think that it is great. Carly can say hopscotch, Chloe says it hop-si-scotch (after several times working with her I did finally get her to say it the right way). They are so cute!

Fireproof - Movie Review

Last night Matt and I were able to go out with our Sunday School class on a date night. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then went to see the movie Fireproof - thanks TJ and Deanna for investing in our marriage! It was a great movie!! At the beginning we had to kind of get used to the acting, a little shaky at first, but then it got really good. It is about a young couple who have drifted so far away from each other that they want a divorce. Then God intervenes and you have to watch to see what happens. I definitely recommend the movie. Of course I cried my eyes out - I am just so thankful that God has a hold of our marriage. According to the movie you can't love someone without knowing what love is - and who is the only one that can teach us that???!!! Anyways, I can't say too much more without spoiling the whole thing for anyone who wants to see it. Matt and I really enjoyed our night out and of course came home to some funny stories about our children. Mom gave me the whole run down of what went down, so this morning when we were snuggling I wanted to see if they had the same story as Grandma. They did. They told me they didn't eat all their chicken, and they ate apple pie and a donut. They said Grandpa did too but Grandma didn't because she was changing Harper's pamper. They told me about crying because of all their boo boos and Grandpa had to give them medicine. Carly had to go to our room for too much crying. And that they were being silly at the table - they were saying "stinky" because I wasn't there and I don't like that word. So we had to have a little talk about making good choices even when Mommy isn't there. Chloe was the one who gave that info up - Carly said she made good choices all night - of course!! They are too cute and I am thankful they tell me the truth - hopefully they will keep that up!!
